When the Perfect Comes
The real challenge to the imperfect Church
This is something which I wrote a long time ago when I was a tiny young Christian. The Pastor in the Methodist Church where I attended when I got saved wrote a book called, “The Charismatics and the Word of God”, in which he denounced the continuation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, beyond the time of the completion of the canon of Scripture. This I now find stranger that ever, but have further conviction, not only of their continuation, (unbroken bones), but also their vital necessity in our New Covenant thinking, If we are dependent still on our own skills and not the actual power of God which raised Jesus from the dead, not just for our salvation as a new birth experience, (the promise of God from of old), but also, ultimately, the only means available for the our growth and completion. So here is my response to the question but as we go through the Unbroken Bones, I will be introducing this theme as part of the early salvation plan given to the ancients, The Father of Faith, The Son and Heir of choice, and the Deceiver to whom was given an inability to walk uprightly without the coming, “Perfect”
